Who we are
FungiTown Mushrooms was founded by Haarlem local Alan Grommers, who discovered his love for fungi back in 2018. What started as a small attic experiment quickly grew into a full-fledged mushroom farm, officially becoming FungiTown Mushrooms in 2022.
Today, we cultivate fresh, diverse gourmet mushrooms in converted shipping containers at Tuinen van West, serving residents of Amsterdam and Haarlem. Our mushrooms appear on the menus of Ratatouille Food & Wine, Flore at Hotel l’Europe, and De Sering, as well as at food stalls like The Fento in De Foodhallen. They’re also available at local shops including By Steef, Molen de Zandhaas, and The Little Plant Pantry. We also offer fresh mushrooms straight to customers through our WhatsApp and Signal groups.
FungiTown thrives not only because of our high-quality products, but also thanks to the volunteers and small, passionate team who make it all possible. With strong ties to nearby organic farms, we’re dedicated to sustainability, community, and bringing fresh, locally grown mushrooms — straight from our farm to your kitchen.
